I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the show. The content has been insightful and conversation very engaging.

I would like to recommend that you interview Jonathan Leeman. He has written both at a popular (How the Nations Rage) and more academic level (Political Church) regarding this topic and seems to be one of the leading voices in the reformed evangelical community. I think many would benefit from the conversation.

The first episodes of the podcast have been superb! The discussions have been lively and informative. I am looking forward to future episodes as Leithart and Wood seek to flesh out what an ecclesiocentric post-liberal political theology looks like.

Schindler was a meandering mess and he repeatedly failed to answer Peter’s questions, to the point where I started to wonder if he doesn’t actually know what he’s talking about or if there are conceptual distinctions being m... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 42: Church Unity, Ecumenism, and the Cost of Staying - with Ephraim Radner
Q: Why is church division such a significant problem beyond doctrinal disagreement?
Because division fragments the Spirit's life within the church, weakens its witness to society, and has historically led to violence and injustice; unity is essential for credible Christian witness.
Episode 40: Secularization, Social Order, and World History - A Conversation with Dr. Kevin Flatt
Q: How do you connect your research to contemporary discussions about secularization?
The research critiques conventional secularization theories and suggests a need to reconsider how we understand the relationship between religious and secular orders in society.
Episode 40: Secularization, Social Order, and World History - A Conversation with Dr. Kevin Flatt
Q: What do you think about the state of the Christian Church in Canada?
The religious landscape in Canada is complex, reflecting both deep secularization and pockets of evangelical vitality and emerging movements.
Episode 40: Secularization, Social Order, and World History - A Conversation with Dr. Kevin Flatt
Q: What was the basic thrust of your argument in the book on Canadian Christianity?
The book examines the transition of the United Church of Canada from its evangelical roots to a more liberal stance, exploring the historical processes that facilitated this change.
Episode 39: The Return of the Common Good - A Conversation with Stefan Borg
Q: What do you see as the salient critiques of liberalism?
Post-liberal critiques include historical self-undermining of liberalism and the creation of a liberal elite working for its own privileges.
