The Theology Pugcast is three over-educated Reformed guys grumbling about what bugs them, and sometimes even barking about what they like. The show usually is recorded in a pub--that's why there is some background noise on occasion. The topics can vary widely seeing as the Pugsters have different spheres of knowledge and interest, but common themes which appear regularly include the transcendence ... more

Paul Kingsnorth, the award winning novelist and essayist has a new nonfiction book coming out and Chris got an advance review copy. Ostensibly it's about artificial intelligence, but what Kingsnorth is really aiming as is modernity itself, aka the po... more
C.S. Lewis said that “reason is the natural organ of truth, but imagination is the natural organ of meaning.” In this episode, the Pugsters explore his ideas on this, noting that he is using the word “truth” in a very specific way and making a case t... more

Was a worthy listen. Appreciate his work on Negative world. Would not go to him for questions on theology. I’m a hard “no” on anyone propping up Francis Chan, or Mitt Romney, as examples to be followed.
A wonderful show where three wise and educated men talk about God and His world. I have grown in my thinking from this show and have started from the beginning and making my way to the present. I must applaud Chris, Glenn, and Tom for their dedication to this show and sharing the beautiful view of God's enchanted world in which we live. Thank you three very much and God bless you. I will pray for your continued wisdom and teaching as you go through life.
This is not an “every episode” podcast for me. … I mean, who has the time? When a topic is relevant or interesting, I'll listen. And they never disappoint. Their podcasts are thoughtful, informative, and encouraging. It makes me wonder if this is what the conversations between Lewis and Toklin sounded like.
I absolutely love these guys! I generally don’t like listening to academics very much, because they usually come across as people devoid of real world experience. These fine gentlemen have really gotten to be one of my favorite podcasts. They bring academia to the place where it impacts the real world, and stand firm on the foundation of Christ as they do it. Keep up the good work, gentlemen!
Truly shocking how much these people can say about Oscar Wilde considering:
1. They manage to not actually address or discuss his queerness or imprisonment. ( fyi you absolute fools and clowns he converted on his deathbed but wasn’t repentant for his queerness.) A man who has been on several different sides of society as Wilde was does in fact seem particularly positioned to comment on the different aspects of society
2. They seem to have never heard any of his discussions of art.
3. How litt... more
