  • Laimbeer should be blamed not Isiah.

I’ve watched a couple Cedric Maxwell podcasts and I’m happy to subscribe to it now.

Isiah Thomas keeps getting blamed for bird stealing the ball, but bill Laimbeer stood flat-footed, as Bill often does.

Any junior high kid is taught to come back towards the ball, especially under pressure, and Laimbeer went to the lane and stood there.

Isiah has been blamed for 35 years, I say Laimbeer should be blamed for the next 35.

Q: What did Kawhi Leonard bring to the team when you started coaching him, and how did you bridge him with the other stars?

Legendary Saxophonist Maceo Parker on Playing with Prince & James Brown
Q: What's a memorable backstage or recording room moment that stands out to you?
The constant dialogue about timing, the fees for lateness, and the unspoken rules created a ritual around rhythm and personality that shaped how we built and delivered performances.
Legendary Saxophonist Maceo Parker on Playing with Prince & James Brown
Q: What's your take on the influence of Prince on your career, especially in how you were introduced on stage?
Prince treated the James Brown material as a backbone, and the way he integrated a saxophonist into his own sound showed me that if it worked for James Brown it could work for anyone, reinforcing the importance of identity on stage.
Legendary Saxophonist Maceo Parker on Playing with Prince & James Brown
Q: How did you first meet James Brown and start collaborating with him?
I was connected through Kingston and Melvin, and when James Brown's people brought me in, I started working with him and found that the energy and expectations in his circle shaped how I approached music.
Rick Mahorn Talks WILD Bad Boy Pistons vs Celtics + Today's NBA w Cedric Maxwell
Q: How did the business and marketing side of basketball change from your era to now?
We discuss the growth in salaries, the role of agents and media, and how players cultivate a personal brand beyond basketball, including the shift from a primarily on-court focus to a broader entertainment and business persona.
