Entertaining history about the Carson Show. Just preordered the book.
The unknown host seemingly has connections to legendary guests who are weirdly eager to talk to him. He sounds like he’s a lawyer conducting a deposition. He has zero personality and his interest in the subject seems barely below surface level to achieve passability for a podcast host. If you can get past the host, the guests are forever entertaining. He also sounds like a NARC.
Just getting caught up on these episodes, most recently Emily Marshall, who was so down to earth, humble and honest. Emily Marshall, I can assure you the interview was not boring.
I just missed the Carson era. I was seven when he had his last show. I vaguely remember the buzz around the event but was too young to understand what was going on.
