Love the podcast! However just a bit of feedback the number of references to Gemma’s book is getting a bit grating. Love you guys.

  • Great show, poor editing

I love this show, I’ve learned so much from listening and will definitely miss Kate.

My one gripe is the editing, which is similar with some of the other Rask podcasts. I skip the first two minutes because the preamble is so long, and occasionally the editing has been a bit random, with little bits that they talk about editing out, being left in. Today I was listening to one of the latest episodes and was totally gripped when the last 15 minutes became a garbled edited chat repeating certain bit... more

  • Superannuation…it needs more love and accuracy

I’ve been listening to this podcast for over a year now and find the financial information generally helpful. However, the exception, and it’s a big one, is the superannuation content of this podcast. The hosts, Owen and Kate, have at least two episodes dedicated to this topic, and by estimation, it’s time to bring in a third party expert to clear up the inaccuracies that both hosts have provided. For example, both hosts have failed to emphasise the crystal clear early retirement benefits of sup... more

  • University savings hacks by Kate

Kate Campbell on this podcast is very basic and very cheap, I’d hate to be on a date with her as it’d be dry biscuits and a packet of dates for both of you.

I’d recommend she have her own podcast living in poverty instead.

Q: What should someone in their mid-20s do about super when they move overseas or are new to the system?
Understand your local super or retirement scheme, select an appropriate fund, and consider using extra contributions strategically (like a first home or higher growth options) while being mindful of insurance and fees.
Money in your 20s: investing, super and your first home
Q: First, would you focus on investing early or building up cash savings first?
The consensus is to do both: start investing to learn the craft and also build cash savings to provide liquidity and security, so you can fund investments and handle life events without relying on debt.
Fuel relief is coming, credit card surcharges are going plus, starting with $2k & retirement planning
Q: What should a couple in their mid-40s with a mortgage, two kids, and no investments consider next?

Estate planning, super & SMSFs: What happens to your money?
Q: How does an SMSF differ from an industry or retail fund in terms of estate planning and control?
An SMSF provides greater control over who manages the fund and how benefits are allocated, but it comes with higher costs and responsibilities compared to industry or platform funds which are more automated and less hands-on.
