  • Three coachs

These three characters or coaches(i let you choose) are amazing! Really enjoy listening to the questions and perspectives they have. I have to refrain myself from binge listening. Maybe if I have a long indoor bike trainer ride. I will have to figure out ways to listen while doing chores or in the car(cage).

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can You Be a Mom, Work Full-Time, and Train for an Ironman? with Dr. Iris Nafshi
Q: Before answering, a host asks about guilt and personal strategies: do you feel guilty taking time for yourself, and how do you navigate that tension?
The discussion highlights adjusting the narrative, recognizing that taking time for self-care can model healthy behavior for kids, and using concrete tactics like flexible scheduling and shared responsibilities to minimize guilt while maintaining progress.
Can You Be a Mom, Work Full-Time, and Train for an Ironman? with Dr. Iris Nafshi
Q: Paul Warloski asks about the practical side: what do you tell female athletes who feel guilt or struggle to fit training around family commitments?
Iris explains that guilt is common but not deterministic; the focus should be on infrastructure and mindset—creating adaptable routines, leveraging support networks, and applying self-compassion alongside grit to sustain training without sacrificing well-being.
How to Train for Endurance After 50 with Dr. Reaburn
Q: If you could give advice to a 50-year-old athlete who wants to compete into their 70s, what would you say?
The core advice is to listen to your body, balance training stress with recovery, prioritize weight training and nutrition to preserve muscle, and gradually integrate endurance work with strategic high-intensity sessions to extend athletic longevity.
Move Better, Perform Better: Erin Carson’s Training Approach
Q: What are your general guidelines for someone who wants to start improving movement quality with limited time?
Start with a simple, home‑based four‑exercise routine that targets mobility and stability in key areas (ankles, hips, thoracic spine). Use short, focused sessions, ideally integrated into daily life (before or after runs), and gradually add a fifth exercise as routine sticks. Consistency and pattern awareness trump volume at the outset.
Move Better, Perform Better: Erin Carson’s Training Approach
Q: Erin, how does movement training differ from simply getting stronger for endurance athletes?
Movement training focuses on how the body moves through space, decoupling joints, and training multiple planes of motion to enable more efficient, less stressful performance. Strength gains are valuable, but without mobility and pattern quality, improvements may plateau or lead to injuries; the goal is to improve movement quality first and then load progressively.
