The Psychology of Attachment, Dating & Relational Patterns
Q: So, before we go any further then, could you guide us through what is a relational pattern?
A relational pattern is a pattern of thinking, emotions and behaviour that develops early in our relationships with important people; it often serves to keep us safe and connected, and it can make sense in the original context but cause issues when carried into adult life without noticing the context shift.
Why You’re Always Overwhelmed | The Psychology of Priorities & Procrastination
Q: What practical exercises can listeners try to manage procrastination and protect their wellbeing?
Listeners can try the Wellbeing Cups to visually balance components of joy and meaning against obligations, practice 'body doubling' for accountability on tough tasks, and batch admin tasks to minimize constant context switching and energy drain.
Why You’re Always Overwhelmed | The Psychology of Priorities & Procrastination
Q: Why do we often feel overwhelmed by our to-do lists, and how can we begin to reframe priorities?
We face a tug-of-war between our future goals and present desires; reframing priorities starts with understanding what truly matters, using tools like the Eisenhower Matrix, and breaking big tasks into smaller, doable steps to reduce perceived barriers.
What Is Narrative Therapy? Psychologists Explain (And Why It Changes Everything)
Q: How does narrative therapy address language differences or cultural contexts?
The approach prioritizes using the language of the person, involving interpreters when needed, and adapting tools like Tree of Life to align with different cultures, which makes it more inclusive and capable of embracing diverse identities.
Why So Many Employees Are Burning Out | Psychology of Workplace Wellbeing
Q: So can you tell us about how some of the theories translate into education and perhaps into other settings as well?
Adam explains Communities of Practice, showing how shared problem solving strengthens identity and collaboration, and how onboarding and autonomy influence well-being across education, healthcare, and business.
