  • Finally, someone gets it.

Longtime listener and longtime sufferer of panic it’s been very refreshing to hear Drew describe things I thought only existed in my anxious mind, he gave me a sense of belonging and hope. I’ve suffered my whole life with panic “I’ve tried everything” but the way he articulates these sensations and thoughts make you feel like you’re talking to a wise friend who truly has been in your shoes and I don’t have the words to convey my gratitude as I found this during the darkest time thank you.

  • Very Helpful and Thanks

Because I felt anxiety about an upcoming unexpected event, I found episode 171 and listened to it three times. Drew gave lots of good advice including to ride the wave of fear and surrender to it. I subscribed to the podcast and will catch up with the older episodes. In the episode I listened to today, Drew said (in his calming voice) to take the feeling with you. These episodes seem to lower my anxiety and are so interesting and I am very thankful!

  • If you are curious…

If you are curious about what Drew has to teach, please read on. In approx. January of 2025, I found my way to Drew Linsalata’s The Anxious Truth podcast, by way of Rick Hanson’s Being Well podcast. Rick may have been interviewing Drew, and I was drawn to Drew’s empathy, compassion, and practical understanding of how to disarm lifelong, recurring irrational fears. I’ve since listened to episodes 001-120, and have recently begun also alternating with the newest episodes (starting with about 330… ... more

  • Not a huge podcaster but this is the ONE podcast I follow and listen to weekly.

I never leave reviews and I never listen to podcasts.. this year has been very hard on my GAD and health anxiety. I was looking for anything and everything to help with my journey of understanding and managing my anxiety. When I stumbled onto Drew’s podcast series I felt relief. Not necessarily a relief to my anxiety… but knowing there was a community out there that knows what I’m going through and I’m not alone. The was Drew goes into depth and explains has really helped me. I enjoy listening t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Anxiety Recovery Questions & Answers | Ep 339
Q: How should one handle good days: bask in comfort or push to expose and learn on easier days?
On good days, you should enjoy them but also continue to do exposures and live life with the understanding that anxiety may return; do not wait for perfect days to challenge the anxiety and focus on learning through difficult moments rather than waiting for ideal conditions.
Anxiety Recovery Questions & Answers | Ep 339
Q: When do you shut the door on ruminative thoughts in Pure O OCD and how do you allow your brain to be messy and noisy instead?
You cannot shut the door on thoughts; you will always hear them. The key is to acknowledge the thoughts without entering the 'anxiety room,' allowing the brain to be noisy while deciding not to engage with it, thus reducing the urgency to react.
Anxiety Recovery Questions & Answers | Ep 339
Q: Can you dig into the question about exercise and anxiety and whether you can exercise your way out of anxiety?
The host clarifies that you cannot exercise your way out of anxiety; exercise should be part of a healthy lifestyle and can aid in stress management and interoceptive exposure, but it isn't a cure for anxiety disorders.
Anxiety Recovery Questions & Answers | Ep 339
Q: One member of our community asks, when you really struggle to just let the symptoms be and you can't really do with none, am I the only one who has this problem?
The host explains that you are not alone and acknowledges that simply choosing to do nothing and letting symptoms ride out is extremely hard; the approach requires a brave leap of faith to intentionally stay uncomfortable without trying to fix it, and while difficult, it yields better long-term outcomes.
Questions and Answers About Anxiety And Recovery | EP 328
Q: Can you feel fear without fearing?
Yes, it is possible to recognize that you feel fear without treating that feeling as an emergency or needing to escape it.
