  • Don’t Waste Your Time

Do not listen to these women. Both are still riddled with anxiety and showcase it regularly on their social media. They don’t have any solutions and will just talk in circles like they are on a therapist’s couch. Ironic as Alison is a trained therapist but lives a very sad-looking life. There is constant interruption and the overuse of the word “like” that drives me nuts. There is nothing to be gained from these episodes.

  • Helpful, thanks

It’s interesting how people that struggle with anxiety/depression have all these similar attributes. You guys hit a lot of them dead on and it’s nice to hear that it’s not “just me” going through this one odd thing. The only thing that irks me is the audio editing - what the heck is happening? Sometimes you guys sound like a CD player that skips. No need to chop the audio so much - post it as it is (maybe with a bit of editing - but not in the middle of someone talking). Also, the transition to ... more

290. Could Your Thyroid Be Behind Your Anxiety? Ft. Carrie Vitt
Q: What are practical first steps someone can take if they suspect thyroid autoimmunity?
Start with non-invasive tests the patient can order or request (TPO, TG antibodies), evaluate gut health and stress levels, reduce processed foods, and adopt a nutrient-dense diet while seeking guidance from a functional or autoimmune-focused practitioner.
290. Could Your Thyroid Be Behind Your Anxiety? Ft. Carrie Vitt
Q: Can you explain Hashimoto's in simple terms and how antibodies affect the thyroid?
Hashimoto's is an autoimmune process where the immune system attacks thyroid tissue, gradually destroying it and potentially lowering thyroid hormone production; antibodies like TPO and thyroglobulin indicate this autoimmune activity and help guide monitoring, though treatment decisions often depend on overall thyroid function.
288. Anxiety Symptoms Explained: Eye Floaters, Blurry Vision, Dizziness & Visual Symptoms with Ophthalmologist Dr. Rani Banik
Q: What treatments exist for bothersome floaters and when should someone consider them?
Most floaters are benign; two FDA-approved options are laser treatment to break up floaters and vitrectomy to remove the jelly. Neither is risk-free, so they are considered only after evaluating benefits, risks, and alternatives and typically after other strategies are tried.
288. Anxiety Symptoms Explained: Eye Floaters, Blurry Vision, Dizziness & Visual Symptoms with Ophthalmologist Dr. Rani Banik
Q: What are eye floaters and why do they appear?
Floaters are fragments within the vitreous jelly of the eye; as we age, the jelly liquefies and collagen fibers float around, casting shadows that we perceive as spots or threads, especially against bright backgrounds.
280. Hormones, Anxiety, and Perimenopause: What Every Woman Needs to Know with Dr. Greg Mongeon
Q: Is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) always off the table given historical studies?
Not necessarily; newer research suggests bioidentical progesterone can be beneficial in many cases, while synthetic hormones from older studies showed risks. Individualized assessment and weighing benefits versus risks is key.
