  • The podcast host

The podcast host needs to stop saying “yeah” or “yes” while his guest his speaking. It makes for uncomfortable listening. The host is too keen to interject or join in — he needs to listen in silence while his guests give their answer.

I had to stop listening after 10 minutes to the latest episode because the host would not be quiet.

(Harsh, yes. But an honest review.)

  • Encouraging and Equipping

The podcast is great! The volume has been low recently so may want to take a look at that, but the topics are helpful and encouraging.

  • So much potential but so much harm

They are changing lives not with the gospel but with trauma.

I would encourage listeners and the podcast speakers here to listen to the true, untold stories of those coming out with real wounds from A29 churches through the Bodies Behind the Bus podcast. A29 wants to reach unreached people... more

When the Gospel Transforms a City Through Church Planting
Q: What are the five things needed for the gospel to transform a city, as mentioned in the talk?
The five things are: the Holy Spirit's power, preaching boldly, training people, avoiding preaching someone else's Jesus, and church planting and leadership development to sustain the work.
Todd Hickox Fireside Chat - Bonus Episode
Q: How were you shepherded into the call of church planting and the prep for church planting?
Todd describes sensing the direction for his family, submitting to leadership, and receiving support through the church's residency program to plant and be equipped for the mission.
Reclaiming Wonder in a Disenchanted World through Church Planting
Q: So what's different? Like how has Mariners changed in seven years?
Lee explains that Mariners has grown significantly, launching additional micro-neighborhood congregations in response to COVID-19, moving from two locations to seven in a few years.
Church Planters' Wives
Q: What advice would you give to wives of church planters?
Don't rely on your own understanding. Bring in older women and ask for help.
Church Planters' Wives
Q: What's the best part of being married to a church planter?
The best part is the front row seat that you get because the pastor, especially church planting, you know, it's not a large operation at the beginning.
