  • A voice of sanity in a chaotic world

With all the tumultuous, Christian, anti-Christian, political, easy-answer rhetoric circulating throughout America, I find Russell Moore provides a space for thoughtful and thought-provoking conversations. I don’t agree with all—but that’s what America is supposed to be about.

Great Christian podcast! I appreciate Russell Moore’s thoughtful, Bible-based perspective that rises above politics and stays grounded in faith and scripture. I’m always excited when a new episode becomes available.

  • Pure Conservative talking points

If you are looking for Jesus and his teachings, look elsewhere.

    He has literally said:

“Sometimes the MOST loving thing you can do to your enemies is kill them.”

Claims to not like Trump but continually works to white wash his policy and rhetoric.

  • Thanks for your work

Faithful but flawed Roman Catholic here, I deeply appreciate your show. Every time I listen, I learn something new and grow in faith, sometimes even despite myself. The things that divide Christians are nothing compared to the one who unites us. Keep up the good work.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Andy Crouch on Why Technology Can’t Cure Loneliness
Q: What should listeners do on a practical level to start reclaiming a more human life in a tech-saturated world?
Put persons back in the loop of daily life, reinsert personal connections into routine moments (like greeting delivery workers or inviting trusted people into your home), and cultivate households and communities where people are known and valued over mere transactions.
David French on the Last Ten Years
Q: In light of the 2016 surprise and the years since, what did you learn about evangelical political alignment and its relation to leadership?
David French discusses how evangelical politics have become tightly interwoven with the personalities and power structures within American politics, noting shifts in leadership dynamics, the allure and risks of charismatic authority, and how loyalty to political figures sometimes eclipses doctrinal or ethical concerns.
What Do People Mean When They Say "The Universe"?
Q: What is the origin of the language of the universe, and how does it differ from a Christian view of providence?
The language of the universe often reflects a desire for providence without acknowledging a personal God; a Christian view insists that all things are being held together by a personal God who knows us and whose purposes include conformity to Christ.
What Do You Do When Christian Nationalism Comes to Church?
Q: How should one engage in conversations about Christian nationalism with someone who holds differing views within a church setting, especially when guidance seems to threaten church unity?
He advises evaluating the stakes and the relationship: consider whether a direct debate is productive, seek to maintain unity for the sake of vulnerable people, and use patient, relational approaches—such as stating a different perspective and continuing dialogue later—while ensuring that church actions align with compassionate ministry rather than partisan aims.
What Do You Do When Christian Nationalism Comes to Church?
Q: What are some good questions to ask Christians who subscribe to Christian nationalism but don't explicitly state it, and what questions could challenge that belief?
Moore suggests starting with relationship-aware questions that discern the impact of beliefs on concrete actions, such as how one's views affect care for refugees or how they confront power dynamics in governance, and then shifting to questions about practical neighborly responsibility, all while avoiding unnecessary public confrontations and focusing on unity and discernment in different relational contexts.
