  • Never again

I’m a fan of both AD&D1e and DCC so I tried listening to the first episode of the steading of the hill giant chief. I couldn’t make through the first 10 minutes. Nothing is more unfunny than geeks who think they’re funny. That’s one of the main reasons I typically avoid real play podcasts. I prefer grim pulp swords and sorcery over legend of vox machina

  • Hidden gem actual plays

I like actual plays that aren’t super polished, seem like actual plays that I might actually be able to participate in—that is not played by professional actors. I also like actual plays that try new systems. The Thankless Role Players deliver on all counts. Their GM rotation also adds to the variety. I think this podcast is a hidden gem amongst all the rest.

  • Dungeon crawl Classics

I was looking for an actual live play of dungeon, crawl, Classics, and found this one. The dungeon master is entertaining as well as the players. They are creative and fun and not disgusting lol.

I’ve enjoyed listening to a bunch of the episodes.

I would highly recommend this to anybody interested in learning the various systems.

  • Excellent actual play podcast

I search out actual play podcasts for RPGs that I’m interested in. I discovered this podcast because I was looking for an Ars Magica game and it was the only one I could find. After listening to the adventure, I was hooked. Excellent GM and players continue to play through a series of interesting games. Huge fan of old D&D and loved the mash up with King of Dungeons. Can’t recommend more highly!
