  • Strong show for ADHD adults

This show’s hosts select excellent topics and expand on them just the right amount, in a listenable way with humor and humility alongside the knowledge. Their May 1st conversation with Ari Tuckman is one of the best, most advice-packed, yet fun and orderly podcast episodes for ADHD adults that I’ve heard recently.

What Changes About Executive Function After 40 with Dr. Brandy Callahan
Q: So what does the research actually look like when considering executive function trajectories for adults with ADHD across the 40s, 50s, 60s and onward?
There are only a small handful of studies focusing on cognition in adults over 40 with ADHD, and even those show mixed results; lab tests often don't reveal large executive deficits on average, though individual variation is high and real-world functioning may differ from test performance.
The Relational Toll of ADHD Over Time with Dr. Dodge Rea
Q: What role does shame play, and how can couples move away from blaming?
Shame often surfaces as a driver of blame; reframing shame as loyalty to old lessons and fostering authenticity helps couples discuss symptoms and needs without spiraling into blame.
The Relational Toll of ADHD Over Time with Dr. Dodge Rea
Q: What is misattunement and why does it happen more in ADHD relationships?
Misattunement occurs when partners fail to read each other's needs accurately, a problem amplified in ADHD relationships due to differences in processing and communication, but it can be addressed by acknowledging both sides' intent and building mutual understanding.
Emotional Regulation When You’re Already Depleted
Q: When your tank's low, what are your first signs that your emotional regulation is starting to slip?
Signs include feeling overwhelmed, shutting down, and becoming unable to manage tasks. There's also a tendency to be passive-aggressive or short with others, especially via text.
The Introvert’s Guide to Finding Your People with Ky Wescott
Q: How do you define what it means to be introverted?
Ky explains that introversion is about how energy is used, implying that introverts can be socially active but need time to recharge.
