These podcasts were great, really helped me get oriented to the different student evaluation techniques used by residency programs!
So much *real* world experience shared between Dr Desai and Dr Katta! Other podcasts try to teach you “tips and tricks”, but this podcast helped me understand much more of the reasoning behind what program directors are looking for. Very helpful that they’re keeping up to date with news about coronavirus etc too!
I came across this podcast (and other Dr Desai’s resources) approximately two years ago. Right of the bat you can tell that this is not you average advice that you find after reviewing thousands and thousands of forums. This goes beyond the personal experience of any medical student, IMG, resident.
My favorite episodes hands down are the ones related to interviews. I got so many ideas when I was applying to residency!!!!!

This podcast gives you specific and honest information about not just US residency, but specialty specific information, current events in medicine, and tips to becoming a better residency candidate. If you’re an IMG, you need to listen to this podcast!
Very educational and helpful for those in the process of getting into residency.
Dr. Desai’s insights are a must have for anyone that is working towards their dream of being an American doctor!
I just finished listening to the IMG podcast and it is fantastic. Dr. Desai delivers an informative session on externships and osbserverships. The key differentiator from other sources is getting first person narratives of the experience from an IMG. I also appreciate the fact that it was not just the positive side but some of the pitfalls. A valuable listen for anyone considering this path for themselves or family.
Dr. Desai provides excellent insights on various important topics relevant to different levels of medical trainees when pursuing success in the career of medicine. These advice are very actionable, enlightening and practical. Thank you very much.
There are many aspects of medicine considered "paramount" in importance, such as the immense encyclopedia of medical knowledge that we're expected to learn. There is also a pressing need to learn other aspects of medicine, such as the intricate details needed to not only complete, but succeed well beyond your peers in medical school and the subsequent residency match, and also simply learning how to become a better physician to your patients.
