What’s the core of Stoicism worth keeping? And where does it fall short?
Caleb shares his life philosophy in this companion to Michael’s earlier episode. He builds the case for Stoicism from the ground up, then turns it on itself. If happiness has t... more
Caleb shares reflections from a recent pilgrimage to Athens. He walks through the ruins of the Stoa Poikile, the painted porch where Stoicism was born, and finds the irony of a philosophy of impermanence enduring in stone fragments thousands of years... more

Presented with depth and clarity. Very insightful, highly recommended!
I heard some of the best insights aobut Stoicism in these podcast episodes. Sometimes Caleb’s slow cadence makes it harder to follow his train of thought (especially when you’re listening to this while commuting), and Michael’s awkward sing-offs make you think these guys are amateurs. Maybe they are, but the content is worth sticking around for. There is at least one golden nugget of insight in nearly every episode. Some are loaded with them. If you’re interested in Stoicism, give these guys a c... more
Indispensable; the best audio form content for this philosophy that I’ve yet come across.
The thematic episodes are insightful, structured convos between the hosts, both of whom wield their advanced philosophy degrees gently here, like slicing garlic with a battle axe. The Discourses episode should be required listening for anyone new to the philosophy, I’ll definitely be recommending that widely. The interview episodes have been excellent with the hosts asking truly interesting questions tha... more
It is clear the hosts are well prepared and have a reasoned and thoughtful approach to each episode. This is stoicism presented on an intellectual level where many similar podcasts lean too much into the emotional masculinity appeal. A great podcast!

A thoughtful, philosophy-forward show where two hosts explore practical virtue, resilience, and everyday living through Stoic ideas. Episodes often blend classical concepts with modern applications—from personal life philosophy and introspection to comparisons with other traditions and historical figures—emphasizing practical guidance over abstract theory. Notable strengths include clear, structured conversations and guest-led discussions that deepen understanding of Stoicism in real-world contexts. The format and tone tend to favor calm, accessible pragmatism and a focus on character, self-control, and ethical living.
