  • Boring

Couple of dudes who are trying too hard to make the show entertaining with sound affects like the pew noise on rankings and the boring fire segment. Seem to lacking knowledge of league rules and news and since one of them produces for double m he just repeats what double m says from his show. They also over emphasize what they mean in their statements on topics. The second this show comes on I turn snr off.

  • Just a couple of fanboys

This podcast is the definition of over opinionated yinzers with a platform they shouldn’t have. There’s no objectivity and the homerism is out of control.

  • Not great technologists

This podcast is a great listen but they can’t find someone who is tech savvy enough to fix the download problem on the apple platform. 5 stars for content, 1 star for tech support = 3 stars.

  • Lost

Acting like Stephen Nelson is better than Joe Haden or is an all Pro bowler is delusional, Steven Nelson is a good corner nothing more nothing less , but rarely makes any plays on the ball

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

HR 2: Jim Wexell Joins The Standard, Rookie Minicamp Preview
Q: What gives you the confidence that the offensive line has been fixed given the new depth chart and recent additions?
Wexell explains that the infusion of talent creates depth and competition, but the final five will depend on how players adapt to new schemes and where they're slotted; the coaching staff will determine the best fit through practice reps and camp evaluations.
Ray Fittipadlo joins the Standard
Q: Are quarterbacks in play for the Steelers this year and where might they fit in the plan?
There is a consensus that quarterback prospects will be considered in later rounds, with Drew Aller from Penn State and Cole Payton from North Dakota State discussed as speculative picks to add depth and upside, indicating a cautious, long-term development approach rather than an immediate starter.
Ray Fittipadlo joins the Standard
Q: What's your take on the guard position and the interior line for the Steelers?
The hosts and Ray converge on interior line help as a priority, with Ioanna of Penn State favored by one commenter and Rutledge from Georgia Tech highlighted as an athletic interior option who could transition to starter, reflecting the team's emphasis on a versatile, physical interior line.
Ray Fittipadlo joins the Standard
Q: Ray, where do you see the Steelers going with the first-round pick at 21?
Ray sticks with a safety/defensive playmaker in the early projection, nudging toward Theeneman or a similar impact defender, but notes the possibility of trading up or down depending on how the board falls and the top-10 teams' interest; he emphasizes need on defense and a player who can be a franchise piece for the next decade.
Mike DeFabo joins The Standard
Q: Give me your one name that you think is going to have the most impact on this team in 2026, and then give me one that might not have as much impact.
The player most likely to have a big impact is Michael Pittman Jr. as a veteran and versatile threat who can anchor the receiver group, while a potential under-the-radar choice with less impact could be Jaquan Brisker due to injury history or scheme fit, though his upside remains high.
