  • One of the More Entertaining Music Chat Podcasts Out There

I think Lawrence is one of the best under-the-radar podcast interviewers in podcast-land. These shows feel like fly-on-the-wall conversations, with Lawrence often prompting his guests into pleasantly unexpected topics and revealing glimpses into the creative process. Even if the guest is someone I know nothing about, I always come away entertained and learning something new about what makes music tick. A gem!

David Harrington of Kronos Quartet: The Musician Listens

David expresses pride in the acquisition of their archive and emphasizes the importance of public access to it for educational purposes.

It's more about the communities that you create and the interactions you make rather than the geographical place itself.
Hampus Lindwall: Blizzard of Organ
Q: Do you have a theory either for yourself or maybe more broadly culturally, why it seems like this delineation between high and low art seem to matter much less?
Hampus connects the breakdown of these barriers to generational shifts in culture and the influence of media, such as television, in making diverse types of art accessible to the public.
Hampus Lindwall: Blizzard of Organ
Q: Can you tell me a little bit about the relationship and the choice to open the album that way?
Hampus explains that opening the album with a powerful piece sets the tone for something new and defines the direction of the record.

Q: What is this idea of post-internet organ music?
Hampus discusses the term as something that Robert Berry coined, reflecting influences from internet media and art, although he himself is skeptical about the label's accuracy.
