How are they “both born in 1986” but disappear in September 1981?? Episodes are too short and this one lost me.
But OH the melodramatic narration (verge of tears) and overly-flowery language. And definitely not an apolitical presentation. Such a good story but the tone is soooooo melodramatic. And way toooooo verbose! And the music is mismatched and distracting.
starting at season 3. so, full disclosure; i have no idea how those season compare to this one. this is very story telling/descriptive. i feel like we are in a creative writing class listening to our peer read her piece to the rest of us.
i don’t need to paint a picture. i just really want to hear about the two women on their camping trip.
it’s making my mind wander. maybe it’s my ADHD?
great storytelling. but, not the kind of true crime podcast i need.

Loved it, but the background upbeat music doesn’t match the context of the show, it feels very pop, and not Shenandoah. And too many side effects.

Recent seasons combine archival reporting, court records, and forensic developments to reexamine long-unsolved or controversial cases, often highlighting how investigations, judicial processes, and community impact intersect with broader social issues. A notable pattern is the emphasis on memory and justice for victims, with guests ranging from family members and advocates to investigators and experts who provide context to complex cases.
