Q: Without putting hard numbers down, what are your goals with moving into the Melbourne market?
Natalie explains that they see Victoria as the challenging but high-potential market; they plan to apply the Housemark model and leverage existing Queensland partnerships to accelerate adoption, aiming for a substantial increment in properties under management while maintaining service quality.
REB Business Empowerment Showcase: From newcomer to agency boss: How an agent scaled to 3 offices in 5 years
Q: What's your biggest learning curve since starting TAG?
Dealing with self-doubt and anxiety, learning to treat those moments as opportunities to grow, and adopting a mindset where the business and leadership reflect a shared vision with the team.
REB Business Empowerment Showcase: From newcomer to agency boss: How an agent scaled to 3 offices in 5 years
Q: What was the scaling path from one office to three, and how did you decide where to place the second and third offices?
We expanded by identifying growth pockets with new infrastructure and different buyer pools, moving from visibility-focused single office to strategically located second and third offices in St. Mary's and Westmead as market opportunities arose, while maintaining a cohesive team and evolving systems.
REB Business Empowerment Showcase: From newcomer to agency boss: How an agent scaled to 3 offices in 5 years
Q: How did you position TAG ARRI in branding and marketing, especially as an independent boutique against big brands?
We invested heavily in marketing from the start—billboards, bus stop ads, mail drops, and local sponsorships—to make TAG a household name and demonstrate our distinct, flexible, client-centered approach without rigid brand guidelines.
REB Business Empowerment Showcase: From newcomer to agency boss: How an agent scaled to 3 offices in 5 years
Q: So when you started, how did you find the real estate industry? What were some of the kind of unexpected challenges you had to face?
The initial phase involved learning the qualification process, understanding contracts and conveyancing, and overcoming the overwhelm of the industry. I started in admin, then moved to associate roles, and gradually built a pipeline through consistent activity and client-focused service.
