Q: What is the best way to make ourselves heard?
Look at the research and engage in conversations rather than complaints.
Less Tech, More Teaching: A Superintendent’s Bold Move (with Dr. Mike Swan)
Q: Do you think there'll be a cost savings not sending the devices home?
It's too early to tell, but there's a significant reduction in repair costs from devices and a focus on using technology as a supplement.
Less Tech, More Teaching: A Superintendent’s Bold Move (with Dr. Mike Swan)
Q: Were teachers on board with this generally?
About 85 percent of the staff was completely bought into it, with only 15 percent struggling to adapt.
Screen Time & the Developing Brain (with Dr. Carrie Mackensen)
Q: What, is there a number on that?
For ages six and older, to keep it to two hours a day of recreational screen time, two hours a day or less, and that's for all recreational screen time.
Screen Time & the Developing Brain (with Dr. Carrie Mackensen)
Q: Can you tell us like, are there similarities? Are there differences there? Is that like an appropriate thing to compare?
It is absolutely an appropriate comparison. A brain hooked on interactive screens and digital media looks just like a brain hooked on cocaine or heroin.
