I have been listening to this podcast for years, but it feels like SBS are using their second and third rate journalists for this now. Some can barely read a transcript, some have interviewing skills of a primary school student.

It’s no longer enjoyable. Just frustrating

  • Waste of time

Same liberal controlled media as America. Was looking for less drama and reporting on crap, not here. Don’t waist your time.

  • Misleading headlines

The headline about obesity in childhood affecting peoples cognitive abilities in adulthood is misleading. It’s about the positive effects of fitness, not the negative effects of obesity. Being pro-diversity also needs to mean being pro-body shapes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why airfares could rise in coming years & US data reignites rate cut hopes
Q: Anna, airport infrastructure spending has jumped 43%. Why could that ultimately mean higher airfares for travellers?
Anna Breakey explains that higher capital expenditures by airports can translate into higher charges for airlines, which then get passed on to travellers in higher airfares, especially given airports' market power in their regions and the rise in fees such as runway and terminal charges.
ASX’s worst day since Liberation Day; oil price shock
Q: What implications do you think a drawn-out conflict could have on the iron ore price and the broader Australian economy?
He notes that ongoing tensions could keep iron ore demand volatile, with China diversifying supply chains and miners facing cross-border pressure, potentially leading to higher costs and weaker volumes for Australian exporters.
ASX’s worst day since Liberation Day; oil price shock
Q: So, Kyle, the ASX 200 is tracking towards its worst week in nearly four years. What's driving those losses today?
Kyle explains that the drawdown is driven by the Middle East tensions and a broader energy shock that could feed into inflation and growth expectations, prompting rapid market repricing and more volatility across global indices.
INTERVIEW: Indigenous Australians Minister on the parliamentary inquiry into racism
Q: Can you tell us a bit about why there is a need for the parliamentary inquiry into racism?
The minister explains that concerns about racism are persistent and harmful, affecting First Nations families and communities, and that the inquiry aims to gather evidence and propose actionable timelines and accountability to address these issues.
INTERVIEW: How legal is the US-Israeli action in Iran?
Q: So what are the facts?
The guest outlines that the strikes violated the prohibition on the use of force, because there was no UN Security Council authorization and no clear right to self-defense under an imminent threat, casting serious doubt on the legality of the actions.
