  • No longer updates

Good podcast but it no longer updates on my car podcast app “Tune-In”. No longer updates online either. Only way to get is through Apple which I hate using.

  • Content fine, but not to schedule

The news content is probably in a par with any other broadcaster. Given the 60-90 second duration, most of the top stories are covered. However, some days there are 3 updates, some days 2, nothing over the weekend, and sometimes they’re released late. Those issues seem imminently fixable.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Supermarkets are trialing facial recognition tech. Why are experts worried?
Q: So how does facial recognition actually work in these trials?
The system analyzes facial features to generate a biometric code that can identify and flag individuals, potentially enabling restrictions or security actions at the door.
How are egg farmers preparing for a potential bird flu outbreak?
Q: So now that the deadly virus has hit Australian shores, what would an outbreak mean for our egg industry and how are farmers preparing?
Colin Ford explains that while the situation is worrying, farmers are proactively tightening security, keeping birds inside where possible, and strengthening biosecurity around water and feed, with broader industry and government measures in place to respond to an outbreak.
US attempts to clear Hormuz
Q: John, can you take me through what's actually happening at the moment in the Strait of Hormuz?
John Lyons explains that the situation is highly unclear with mixed details, but tensions are clearly escalating as the US reports assistance to two US-flagged ships through Hormuz while additional ships and crews remain stranded. Iran has renewed strikes on the UAE, and there are competing claims about attacks on oil facilities. The overall read is that the ceasefire may be collapsing, and the waterway is seeing intensified hostilities and a growing risk to civilian shipping. The context includes the US-Iran dynamic and broader regional responses, with no single side easily claiming a decisive advantage.
