Great news coverage, and excellent perspective.
I’m very thankful for this podcast. Thank u SBS for making this available. It gives important headlines quickly and generally in an unbias way. Ofc there r some political undertones, especially in choosing to report on specific voices or opinions. But generally leaves it up to u to decide.
My only issue is sometimes it’s hard to follow what the flow between stories and to catch what the reporter is saying especially when their accent is thick or they speak too robotically. Peggy Jacimelos is t... more

I am a very avid news consumer so of course I will subscribe to this and any news podcast such as this one. I have seen a lot of podcasts on Apple Podcasts that don’t do Australian news very well but this one does. I really love this news podcast for the fact that I do not have to take attention away from whatever else I am doing so I can be looking at work and listening to this informative podcast. What I do not like however is that ads are frequent.
Content is fine. All the major news stories covered in a relatively unbiased manner. However, production value is very low. Episodes are often late (hours or even days), audio quality can be poor, intro/outro music played twice in a row, common words and names horribly mispronounced (often comically so). I get the impression nobody actually listens to the episodes before they’re published, and that nobody provides feedback to the newsreaders re pronunciation.

This quick, daily bulletin delivers Australia and world headlines with speed, covering major legal actions, political developments, security updates, and notable events across regions. Episodes frequently center on high-impact stories like PFAS lawsuits, government policy reform, and international tensions, then wrap with brief sports and human-interest notes. The format blends concise reporting with periodic cross-promotions and a consistent newsroom cadence, which can appeal to busy professionals who want reliable briefings without deep-dive analysis. A few recurring anchors and reporters help create a familiar, fast-paced listening experience, while some listeners note the practical value of the latest headlines alongside occasional prod... more
