Great news coverage, and excellent perspective.
I’m very thankful for this podcast. Thank u SBS for making this available. It gives important headlines quickly and generally in an unbias way. Ofc there r some political undertones, especially in choosing to report on specific voices or opinions. But generally leaves it up to u to decide.
My only issue is sometimes it’s hard to follow what the flow between stories and to catch what the reporter is saying especially when their accent is thick or they speak too robotically. Peggy Jacimelos is t... more

I am a very avid news consumer so of course I will subscribe to this and any news podcast such as this one. I have seen a lot of podcasts on Apple Podcasts that don’t do Australian news very well but this one does. I really love this news podcast for the fact that I do not have to take attention away from whatever else I am doing so I can be looking at work and listening to this informative podcast. What I do not like however is that ads are frequent.
Content is fine. All the major news stories covered in a relatively unbiased manner. However, production value is very low. Episodes are often late (hours or even days), audio quality can be poor, intro/outro music played twice in a row, common words and names horribly mispronounced (often comically so). I get the impression nobody actually listens to the episodes before they’re published, and that nobody provides feedback to the newsreaders re pronunciation.

A concise daily briefing that covers top international and domestic stories, with a strong emphasis on global politics, security developments, and regional tensions in the Middle East, alongside Australian news and sports. Episodes thread together breaking events, policy shifts, and market implications, often linking geopolitics to everyday life like travel and fuel prices. A notable trait is multilingual reporting and brisk, update-focused delivery, making it suitable for listeners who want rapid, current headlines throughout the day. A few recurring critiques center on audio production consistency and occasional pronunciation quirks, but the format remains valued for fast, unembellished news summaries and timely Australian coverage.
