The reporting is just becoming so weak and lacking context and depth. The ABC no longer undertake a subjective review with reporting focused on facts and providing the non-baised in depth reporting which our country and tax money deserves. The focus on the Middle East lacks this clearly, with attention to detail and context lacking.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Trump tells allies 'go get your own oil'
Q: Do you think Donald Trump's approach in attacking Iran has been a miscalculation?
Ted O'Brien suggests that while there is support for backing allies and Israel in pursuing Iran, the way the situation unfolds requires careful assessment of interests, potential consequences, and the optimal mix of defense and supply routes, with Australia considering its own capabilities and alliance obligations.
National Cabinet to discuss solutions to oil crisis
Q: Is the issue that they can't borrow enough to make the purchase or that they are worried they might not be able to sell it at enough of a price?
The challenge is multi-faceted: cash-flow constraints for smaller distributors, the high cost of tankers in a volatile environment, and uncertainty about future oil prices, which together complicate securing necessary cargoes.
National Cabinet to discuss solutions to oil crisis
Q: Now you're introducing legislation to parliament today to allow the government to underwrite the purchase of fuel supplies. Can you explain how that will work?
The plan sets up Export Finance Australia to help refiners and importers hedge risk and secure cargoes, particularly for smaller players lacking cash flow, so they can bring in fuel more reliably while market volatility persists.
Albanese to roll out business relief
Q: Do you think this moment warranted a formal address to the nation from the Prime Minister?
Angus Taylor suggests the address lacked clear detail and confidence-building elements, arguing for more transparent, daily updates and a plan that Australians can trust.
Albanese to roll out business relief
Q: Could you explain for me the action you're taking to prevent this potential shortfall?
Madeleine King explains the notice of intent under the Australian Domestic Gas Security Mechanism, aiming to bring exporters to the table to ensure gas supply for the domestic market, and notes the timeline and expectations for agreements.
