Those who become great trial lawyers also become great people. Through their work, they grapple with the realities of the human condition and in the... more

  • Actually worth-while litigation insights

This is a safe space for the rare and elite trial attorneys who take their role as an advocate seriously (if not spiritually) and are still actually authentically getting into the arena to advocate people no matter what it costs them. I don’t know how this team makes the time to produce such valuable content with all of the work they are churning out, but tremendously grateful for this contribution to the profession

  • Great Theater, Credibility and Hard Work

An excellent podcast with guests who are experts in their field. Wonderful to hear that “Great theater” is still important for an attorney to capture the hearts and minds of the jury! Establishing credibility is critical for a trial attorney: prosecutors and defense. Greatly appreciated Craig Cooley’s podcast and brought tears of admiration listening to him and his incredible humility. Hard work greatly emphasized by John Shea podcast and the key to a successful career. Loved the quote he mentio... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Better Health Equals Better Results | Samuel Johnston (Health + Performance Coach)
Q: How do you approach purity and safety when using peptides with clients?
Choose high-purity products with third-party certificates of analysis, preferably 99%+ pure, sourced from reputable suppliers, and start with the minimum effective dose, cycling protocols as needed to avoid long-term exposure.
Better Health Equals Better Results | Samuel Johnston (Health + Performance Coach)
Q: What is the base of the nutrition hierarchy you teach?
The base is calorie balance; you must be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, but it should be a sustainable reduction (~10-20%), combined with balanced macronutrient distribution and a strong focus on protein for satiety and maintenance of lean mass.
How to Truly Advocate for Victims of Crime | Renée Williams (Victim Advocate)
Q: For those who aren't intimately familiar with crime victim representation on the civil side, what do they need to know about the importance and specialization of this work?
Renée explains that trauma-informed advocacy is essential since many crime victims, especially sexual assault survivors, have memory and processing challenges; attorneys must learn to work with trauma, pacing disclosures, and avoid retraumatization while pursuing accountability and potential monetary recovery. She also emphasizes selecting lawyers with real experience in this field and understanding the complexities of pleading and legal strategy specific to trauma cases.
When Your Client Inspires You to Go Harder | Damon Hudson (Personal Injury Lawyer)
Q: How did mediation influence the case strategy and the ultimate outcome?
Mediation created pressure and a real chance to push for more—while also highlighting the importance of evidence like video. We used the spoliation issue to leverage a higher offer, and walking away at a critical moment signaled to defense that we had other tools and resolve, leading to a significant increase in the settlement amount over time.
When Your Client Inspires You to Go Harder | Damon Hudson (Personal Injury Lawyer)
Q: Tell us about the pro se case and what made it stand out.
The client faced a serious injury from a store incident, took the bold step of filing pro se just before the statute ran, and refused a low early offer; her bravery and persistence inspired a comprehensive investigation, spoliation claims, and ultimately a mediation that progressed toward a strong settlement.
