  • TLU teaches the skills that AI can't replace

I first attended a TLU boot camp in September of 2025 and I immediately knew this was where I needed to spend my time developing as a lawyer. As we all read about lawyers panicking because AI can do so much of the work that we do:

    - An AI cannot talk to a jury for me.

    - An AI cannot do oral argument in front of a judge.

    - An AI cannot prep a witness and transport them to their most painful moments.

    - An AI cannot take a deposition.

AI presents a world of possibilities for us as lawyers but ther... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sach Oliver - The Magic of Dressed Rehearsals: Preparing to Win & Processing Loss
Q: How do you handle loss personally and professionally, and how has that evolved over time?
Loss is part of the process; I focus on learning, document the lessons, consult with my team and experts, and redirect energy into stronger preparation for future trials, which has yielded better results over time.
Sach Oliver - The Magic of Dressed Rehearsals: Preparing to Win & Processing Loss
Q: Can you walk us through the two-day dress rehearsal process and why each step matters?
We start with extensive jury research, run a mock opening, then adjust scripting based on how real jurors respond; the second day reinforces what worked and corrects what didn't, ensuring confidence and clarity in front of a real jury.
Tax Strategist Sterling Louviere: Win Big Verdicts. Keep More $$$!
Q: How do you typically start working with a high-earning attorney to reduce their tax liability?
We begin with a structural review of their entities and available deductions, then introduce strategies like separate tax vehicles, deferral opportunities, and family-based planning to create a self-sustaining, tax-efficient framework.
A Landmark $30.5 Million-Dollar Verdict Against the City of Seattle for a Wrongful Death
Q: Tell us about the big verdict in Seattle and what made the case unique.
The case faced formidable hurdles like governmental immunity and lack of a single shooter, but the delayed ambulance response and systemic failures were proven to cause damages, leading to a 30.5 million verdict after adjustments from the initial claim.
Humanity, Habitability, and Heart: How Eric Castelblanco Battles Slumlords for Million-Dollar Verdicts
Q: How did you first move from immigration work into habitability cases?
A difficult immigration client case exposed me to the landlord-tenant dynamic and the property conditions that later became central to habitability. A payment struggle led me to take the risk of a housing case, which blossomed into a full focus after a successful settlement.
