Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S6E21 - Beyond Pace: Mine Alone and 20 Together with Sabrina Ehmke
Q: If you could go back in time to speak to a younger runner version of you, what would you say?
buckle up and get ready, because it's going to be a wild, fun time; and don't stop when you see a challenge, just keep going.
S6E18 - Beyond Pace: Ganbare (頑張れ) with Cortney Berling
Q: You mentioned your long relationship with running; how long has running really been part of your life?
About 24 years, dating back to middle school, evolving from a casual start to a sustained, meaningful relationship through college, motherhood, and beyond.
S6E16 - Beyond Pace: F.I.N.E. with Jess Hofheimer
Q: What hopes do you have for your future runner self?
I hope she remains in awe of running, keeps joy as her North Star, and maintains wonder about movement. I want her to know that aging is a gift with its own opportunities and that there are many paths to stay connected to the sport while honoring the body's changes.
S6E16 - Beyond Pace: F.I.N.E. with Jess Hofheimer
Q: If you could talk to a younger version of your runner self, what would you say?
I would embrace her vulnerability and tell her that she can do this, that the willingness to start and persist matters more than perfection. I'd acknowledge that the journey will include pain and struggle, but it also holds the potential for growth and a lifelong love of the sport.
S6E16 - Beyond Pace: F.I.N.E. with Jess Hofheimer
Q: Could you share your favorite running memory and how it sits with you right now?
My most recent marathon memory from Boston stands out because the training adjustments—especially a stronger emphasis on strength work and a smarter, lower-volume approach—gave me a sense of power and flow. I crossed that line knowing I could trust my body and adjust gears when needed, which felt like a win beyond time or pace.
