  • No real complaint… except…

    They’re commenting on subjects they don’t know. I was willing to overlook your use of “Dark Night of the Soul,” because you were using the common sense of it.

    But then you invoked St John of the Cross and the “original” meaning of the phrase… and got it wrong. The original meaning isn’t about despair or anything negative, it’s about the time when the lover is free to go to the beloved.

    Read the poem if you’re going to reference it.
