  • Unsurprisingly very BBC biased

The BBC is coming under a lot of fire from the constant accusations of left-wing bias. Endless arguments are proffered, but just take the Trump speech debacle as illustrative of the endemic bias within the BBC’s bubble—that complete misrepresentation of Trump’s speech, effectively demanding his followers to riot, was a complete falsehood—yet this gets called a simple mistake! Literally editing it in such a way as to invert what was actually said. This BeebWatch podcast skips over the bias... more

  • Hands off our BEEB

Excellent coverage in all the misinformation and hype. It’s critical that the BBC resist what is ultimately a power grab. An excellent lawyer in Florida would be Michael Popok (Legal AF )

  • This is NOT a "Beeb Watch" it is just a BBC Cheer Leader exercise not an independent Podcast. Bolton constantly ensures any guest is as pro BBC and DEFINITELY Anti GBNews as he desires.

    Balanced? No way.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

John Shield: How to Stop the BBC Being Monstered
Q: What is the core purpose of the BBC in a world with more choices and platforms?
The BBC should define and defend its public service mission by clarifying what it is there to do, focusing on core programming and journalism, and engaging across diverse platforms to reach audiences who might not otherwise hear its perspective.
Adam Boulton on GB News, Due Impartiality and Navigating a Fractured Party System
Q: Do you think broadcasters like GB News should have their license reconsidered given concerns over impartiality?
Yes, there should be rigorous scrutiny of compliance with impartiality rules, and regulators may need to reassess licensing status if ongoing violations are evident.
Adam Boulton on GB News, Due Impartiality and Navigating a Fractured Party System
Q: What does due impartiality mean in practice when covering controversial figures or outlets that openly align with a political cause?
Due impartiality requires weighing evidence, providing essential context, and distinguishing between presenting arguments and endorsing them; it also means challenging misinformation while maintaining fairness.
Adam Boulton on GB News, Due Impartiality and Navigating a Fractured Party System
Q: Adam, with this many parties now represented, how do you approach interviewing a broad spectrum of voices in a single program without turning it into a chaotic discusssion?
The key is structure and clear criteria for who participates, ensuring that there's room for policy depth even as you accommodate multiple viewpoints, and not letting entertainment outweigh accountability.
Chris Banatvala on Ofcom, GB News and the Battle Over 'Due Impartiality'
Q: Do you think Ofcom needs to change direction in some way when it comes to broadcast issues, essentially?
The core shift centers on online harms and disinformation, with focus on content regulation and ensuring impartiality remains consistent across news and current affairs, while recognizing the blurred bleed between those categories.
