  • This is NOT a "Beeb Watch" it is just a BBC Cheer Leader exercise not an independent Podcast. Bolton constantly ensures any guest is as pro BBC and DEFINITELY Anti GBNews as he desires.

    Balanced? No way.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Prof Patrick Barwise Unpacks the BBC Green Paper and Trump’s Legal Threat
Q: Should the BBC pay off Donald Trump or not?
No, Donald Trump's legal opinion is weak, and the government should fund a defense for the BBC instead.
Jon Williams, ex-BBC Foreign News Editor, on Freelance Journalism, Media Challenges, and Lawsuits
Q: Is the mental health of journalists a particular concern of yours?
Yes, it has been ever since I was the foreign editor. Many colleagues suffered from mental health issues due to what they experienced in conflict zones.
Jon Williams, ex-BBC Foreign News Editor, on Freelance Journalism, Media Challenges, and Lawsuits
Q: Do you think that the problems have come up, there are problems particularly associated with that over whether, and we see this in Gaza, particularly in the public relation war over Gaza, the temptation for people to say, well, they're a freelance, they're obviously on the side of whoever you're not on the side of?
There are two groups of freelancers: those known to commissioners who choose to be freelance for independence, and ad hoc freelancers who get extraordinary footage in the right place at the right time.
Dan Thomas, FT Global Media Editor on the Sky/ITV Deal and the Future of UK Media
Q: Is the future of GB News and Talk secure?
GB News is finding funding partly for political reasons, while Talk has different sponsors behind it, so their futures are distinct and uncertain in profitability.
Dan Thomas, FT Global Media Editor on the Sky/ITV Deal and the Future of UK Media
Q: What will happen to Channel 4 and BBC if the ITV and Sky deal goes through?
The likelihood of a closer relationship or collaboration between Channel 4 and the BBC increases, but merging completely is not necessarily inevitable.
