You came across my instagram page at exactly the right time. I’m a single mom of five boys (8 year old twins, 9, 16, and 22). I’m parenting my youngest three on my own, while working almost full time, going to school to become a nurse, and living sober for almost six years.

The last year has been incredibly hard, and I’ve often felt overwhelmed and unsure of how to adapt, while trying to be the best mom I can be (which includes internal doubts and struggles like I could’ve never imagined). Pare... more

  • Highly recommend

I’ve been following Jess on Instagram for a while and her work resonates so much but only just discovered her podcast after she shared about her series on sensitivity. It was so validating and I love how balanced the dynamic is between her and Scott in exploring the nuances that come with these topics. I look forward to becoming a regular listener. Thank you Jess and Scott 💖

Will Daycare Ruin My Child’s Attachment? (Revisit)
Q: In an ideal world, is being a stay-at-home parent better than sending your child to child care?
It's challenging to quantify as it depends on individual circumstances and support systems. Having a supportive environment can make stay-at-home parenting beautiful, but childcare can be essential for mental health and financial stability.
Will Daycare Ruin My Child’s Attachment? (Revisit)
Q: Is it wrong to send your kids to daycare?
No, it's not wrong to send your kids to daycare, and it won't ruin your attachment with them as long as you remain actively involved in their lives.
When Is It Okay To Punish Kids? (Revisit)
Q: What are naturalistic and logical consequences?
Natural consequences are outcomes that happen without parental interference, while logical consequences are directly related to the behavior in a respectful way, helping kids learn from their actions.
When Is It Okay To Punish Kids? (Revisit)
Q: When is it okay to punish your kids?
Punishment such as spanking or timeouts should generally be avoided; instead, focus on helping kids understand their behavior and fostering a healthy attachment.
Should You Force Your Kids To Do Chores?
Q: What is your feeling on allowances?
I would not give children allowance for doing household tasks but might give them an allowance to learn how to manage money.
