Before giving this woman any money, I highly recommend reading Raising Your Spirited Baby/Child.

I bought her course (something I normally would never do, but sleep deprivation had me desperate). The entire thing turned out to be a funnel to buy more courses, with little real substance.

Raising Your Spirited Baby offers far more science-based explanations about temperament and sleep—and it’s a fraction of the cost.

Save your time and money. Don’t support a grifter.

  • Misinformation

This podcast labels “misinformation” as anything that is slightly related to Trump or MAHA- even if it’s factual- she can’t separate politics from her social media page or podcast.

  • Informative listen

I appreciate Rachel’s approach to educate parents on topics that aren’t discussed before you have kids or even during. I’ve been a huge fan of hey sleepy baby since my first child was weeks old during the pandemic. Her approach is informative not fear mongering like a like of accounts on IG. She uses the same approach in this podcast. I like walking away know more and feeling empowered to make the decisions that are best for my family.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 101: Why Good Enough Parenting Is Enough with Eli Harwood
Q: What is a cycle breaker, and how can a parent begin reparenting themselves for healthier dynamics?
A cycle breaker works to transform relational patterns and internal narratives to create more connection and safety for their children; this often involves developing a more democratic, nurturing environment and acknowledging past wounds while actively creating new patterns for future generations.
Episode 101: Why Good Enough Parenting Is Enough with Eli Harwood
Q: What should parents do if they regret sleep decisions or fear they damaged their child?
First, forgive yourself by understanding you were likely under-resourced or overwhelmed; then approach the child with curiosity about their needs, apologize or explain where possible, and repair the relationship through ongoing attunement and responsiveness.
Episode 101: Why Good Enough Parenting Is Enough with Eli Harwood
Q: How do you reconcile the idea of sleep and attachment when parents are faced with sleep training versus responding to cues?
Sleep is a mirror of parental and infant mental health. Ideal practice involves presence and responsiveness to infant cues, while recognizing real-world constraints; many pathways exist to improve sleep without compromising attachment, including gradual strategies and using rupture-repair to maintain trust.
Episode 101: Why Good Enough Parenting Is Enough with Eli Harwood
Q: Can you explain what attachment actually means and what people get wrong about it in the early years?
Attachment is about a parent-child bond formed through emotional attunement and responsive caregiving, where reading and soothing the child's cues matters more than rigid practices like constant breastfeeding or bed-sharing; secure attachment comes from the caregiver's self-awareness and ability to be there for the child in tender moments.
Rewind: Reimagining Boyhood with Ruth Whippman
Q: What do you think schools can do, like if there are educators listening?
Schools must prioritize social emotional skills in the classroom, as they are key predictors of academic success and are critical for boys to catch up.
