The speaker speaks in such a lucid way that one feels that he is actually living that story.
I listened to this at work, and I can't really complain since it was free and made the time staring at larvae pass better. The narrator did a good job, but I spent the entire time listening to it being irritated with the main character. The guy is an arrogant jerk to pretty much everyone he meets, but I can't tell if for the time period if he'd be thought of that way.
I was following along in the text and noticed entire chunks of the reading were missing. Particularly when Defoe would go into detail about Crusoe's religious thoughts and reasoning, but other bits too. more
I enjoyed the reading. Although there were vital chapters that were skipped. Ignoring the whole work, reflection, and depth of Defoe's excellent novel. I am a little disappointed. I am hesitant in using this reader again due to the possibility of missing other great literature I have not read.
