Taxes and Real Estate with Ryan Carriere
Q: At what point in the process should individuals talk to a professional about their taxes?
When considering advanced strategies like 1031 exchanges or cost segregation studies, you should work with someone knowledgeable in those areas.
Taxes and Real Estate with Ryan Carriere
Q: How do you help somebody understand what a cost segregation study is?
A cost segregation study separates the different components of a piece of real estate to accelerate depreciation and provide tax benefits sooner.
Taxes and Real Estate with Ryan Carriere
Q: Ryan, when you got started really into that real estate focus, what were some of the things that surprised you?
It's way more complex and way more nuanced than I originally thought.
Defining Defined Benefit Plans with David Podell
Q: What do you recommend to advisors who want to try this for the first time?
We have an intake and proposal tool on our site that asks very basic questions and that can help advisors begin the conversation about Defined Benefit Plans with their clients.
Defining Defined Benefit Plans with David Podell
Q: What's the timing look like as advisors are listening to this? Is this something they should start identifying with clients and they need to start working on this for 2026?
They really could set up a plan in June, July of next year, with funding completed by September 15th of the following year. Now is a great time to get plans set up because there's a long runway for funding.
