染色，真是非常有趣的化學課。自古各地的皇族王族喜歡鮮豔的黃色，是因為不好取得嗎？據說福木是全株可用的黃色來源，還有山黃梔、薑黃，甚至可用在食物染色上。而深灰色系滿常見於素民用色，桑葚和墨水樹，尤其是墨水樹 只要染一次就能呈現深黑色。為什麼鮮豔色彩的蔬果反而不好取得顏色和定色？還有，植物的綠葉並不會是綠色的主要來源，想染成綠色，還得跟藍靛等色齊用才取得綠色。
