  • Awful Editing Mistakes

Love the show but there are so many editing errors such as playing the same clips twice in a row. Please sort it out.

  • Great podcast

I love this show, Maisie and Scott are fantastic together and show great interest and empathy in their guests. Unfortunately had to stop listening to the last episode because of their guest’s bad language (not their fault, but a shame).

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S1 EP 17: Leslie Ash
Q: What are your vivid memories about Quadrophenia?
Leslie recalls the daunting first day, the riot scene, and how the cast bonded before filming, making the experience feel like a close-knit group despite the pressure.
S1 EP 14: Dani Harmer AKA Tracy Beaker (Part 1)
Q: How did Dani cope with the pressures of being a child star and the prospect of social media amplification?
She credits the era without social media for reducing pressure and believes that if it had existed earlier, the experience would have been very different and potentially more damaging. She reflects on how fame at a young age could have altered her sense of self.
S1 EP 12: Dom Joly (Part 1)
Q: How long did a series take to film, and what were the production dynamics like?
A full series took about a year to film; we benefited from cheap, accessible hardware (the VX1000) and a supportive team that rented equipment while preserving a lean, fast, single-camera approach that forced the humor to work in one take.
S1 EP 12: Dom Joly (Part 1)
Q: Why did you dislike the way the show's fame unfolded or how people remembered it at first?
I hated that people often remembered Trigger Happy for a single catchphrase or a few gags, rather than the breadth of 44 sketches per show; I wanted audiences to recognize the full range and craft of the work, including its subtlety and breadth.
S1 EP 10: Jon Tickle - Big Brother (Part 1)
Q: Jon, how are you going to walk on Custard?
Well, I'm going to take advantage of the properties of Custard itself, a playful line that opened a broader discussion about his quick-witted, nerdy approach to challenges and entertaining the audience.
