  • Endless Audio Issues!

The purpose, content and guests on this show are first rate BUT the audio issues, skipping, stuttering, etc within so many episodes often makes the whole episode (and increasingly the whole show) un-listen-able! Please STOP publishing episodes without cleaning up the audio stuttering, skipping, etc problems first!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How to Reduce AGEs and Heal Your Body
Q: What are the most effective evidence-based dietary and lifestyle strategies for lowering risk of major diseases?
The speakers advocate starting with a plant-based, whole-food diet as the foundation, plus consistent stress management, adequate sleep, regular, enjoyable movement, and spending time in nature, all supported by a shift in mindset and self-identity toward healthier choices.
Cardiac events still possible despite best practices
Q: You mentioned a linear association between egg consumption and mortality. Could you discuss the evidence behind this and your recommendations regarding egg intake?
The consensus presented references recent large studies showing a connection between higher egg consumption and certain mortality outcomes, with a nuanced view that context matters (overall diet, accompanying foods, and other risk factors). The guests point to data from large cohorts and to ongoing debate about how much dietary cholesterol from eggs contributes to risk, urging readers to consider total dietary patterns rather than single foods.
Keto, carnivore, and protein fads under fire
Q: What are your thoughts on water fasting and intermittent fasting?
Water fasting can be beneficial for certain cancer patients when supervised; however, it must be done in a controlled setting with careful monitoring, and not attempted at home. Intermittent fasting, in general, is often misunderstood and may not offer meaningful health advantages for most people; the emphasis should be on sustainable patterns and individual needs rather than rigid windows.
Transitioning to raw: Dehydration, satiety, and practical tips
Q: What are your thoughts on fermented foods?
Fermented foods are a big fan-favorite because every culture has used them, and they help digestion and immune function by supporting a healthy microbiome; they're a practical, long-standing part of plant-based eating.
The Thrive Protocol: Stress, Sleep, and Supplement Synergy
Q: What dietary recommendations do you prioritize for managing elevated cortisol due to stress?
Avoid refined sugars to stabilize blood sugar, choose healthy carbohydrates in appropriate portions, and be mindful of glycemic load to prevent spikes that aggravate stress responses.
