RCI | 中文七十年在历史长河里只是一瞬间，但是对一个政权来说，这已经是相当长的一段路。中华人民共和国成立七十年来，哪些重大事件影响了历史进程？何时是生死关头？哪里是没有愈合的伤口？在加广新推出的播客栏目中，我们把过去就这些问题对加拿大华裔学者赖小刚的采访整理汇总，供我们的网友下载收听。赖小刚目前在加拿大皇家军事学院政治系和女王大学历史系任教。中国现代史是他的研究领域之一。

在中美贸易谈判中，对知识产权的监督机制和国家对科技产业的补贴是两个关键问题，也是双方分歧的症结所在。赖小刚认为，这两个问题实际上触及了一党专政和政治改革。美国提出的要求不仅仅是多买美国产品，而是进行制度上的改变。中美贸易战对中国的经济和政治产生了极大的影响，这是一个重大考验，但也是一个历史机遇。
赖小刚接受本台采访是在2019年10月，所以采访中所说的“去年”指的是2018年。几个月过去，尽管中美达成了第一阶段协议，但是造成双方分歧的症结并没有消除。他的分析和见地因此仍然具有参考价值。

赖小刚认为，六四事件是中国的分水岭和转折点，武力镇压的枪声毁掉了中国领导人对自己的制度、政策和能力的信心，也使中国民众抛弃了理想主义。六四之前，邓小平等人一心想把中国建成第二个新加坡。六四之后，各级领导人开始“击鼓传花”，但求自己任期内平安无事。
有些人认为六四使中国失去了一个完成民主转型的机会。赖小刚说，中国在六四之前的政治气氛确实相当开放，但这并不能证明没有六四中国就能够顺利完成民主转型。他也不认为中共会平反六四，因为这意味着打开“潘多拉之盒”，最终导致自己垮台。

1989年春中共前总书记胡耀邦去世。北京学生和民众自发的悼念活动很快转为大规模抗议示威。6月3日，全副武装的军人和坦克冲破市民的拼死阻拦，分几路向北京市中心推进，在6月4日凌晨到达天安门，武力清场。这场持续一个多月的抗议运动，因学生和市民付出的生命，以“六四事件”之名载入了历史。
对赖小刚来说，这是一次“粉碎性的事件”。他的生活道路被它彻底改变。

中共党史中记载着中华人民共和国经历过的许多“重大考验”。但是赖小刚认为，只有那些出乎中共领导人意料之外，并直接涉及到中国政治经济体制存亡的事件才应该被看作是重大考验。如果以这个标准来衡量，1953年夏天出现的全国农产品短缺是中华人民共和国成立后面临的第一次重大考验。
为了解决农产品短缺问题，中国开始实行粮油统购统销。这项政策逐渐演变成城乡制度和统制经济。这种经济模式及一系列相关政策的失败导致政治危机。1978年的改革开放和目前的中美贸易战，源头都可以追溯到这项政策。

毛泽东的阅读量、写作能力和哲学水平都超过蒋介石。他的斗争哲学在上个世纪三、四十年代的严酷环境中比蒋介石的儒家学说更有战斗力，对年轻人也更有吸引力。这种区别造成了国共两党的不同，也是决定国共内战结局的重要因素。但是，毛泽东的成功之处也是后来的问题所在。他把世界万物归结于斗争，发动了一个接一个的群众运动。耗尽所有资源，把事情推到了极端。
赖小刚说，毛泽东和蒋介石留下了二十世纪中国最重要的政治遗产，也留下了没有解决、无法回避的问题。这些问题是我们生活的一部分，他们二人也会一直伴随着我们。

毛泽东和蒋介石都出生在富裕人家，但是成长环境却很不相同。如果说毛泽东在少年时代就尝到斗争胜利的甘甜的话，蒋介石的童年回忆里多有屈辱。他们的价值观也相差甚远。蒋介石在他1943年出版的《中国之命运》中体现出一种沙文主义加儒家学说的价值观。而毛泽东的价值观可用“斗争”二字概况。
当斗争哲学和“妇人之仁”相遇，当一个组织严密、令出必行的团队与一个结构松散的联合体为敌，会出现什么样的结果呢？

毛泽东和蒋介石是二十世纪最重要的两个历史人物。他们的个性不同，价值观不同，一生互相争斗厮杀，但是都深刻地影响了中国和中国人的命运，也都给后人留下了重要的政治遗产。赖小刚认为，直到现在，蒋介石都是中国共产党无法回避的人物，也是把海峡两岸连接起来的不可缺少的人。
