Tragic but beautiful.
i am disappointed that i can only down load act 3 and i dont kno why if i had i would have ranked it higher
Intricately constructed and multi-layered podcast which covers a lot of ground whilst remaining focused on the circumstances of Rathband's story. Writing, editing and performance all come together to create an absorbing listen; particularly appreciated the author himself telling us just why he wanted to write about this story, and how much P.C. Rathband's online presence meant to him. It's a richly detailed study of humanity in extreme circumstances and definitely worth your time.
If you loved S town, you will love this. It's has all the elements of a gripping true crime investigation - poignant dramatic moments, meticulous investigation and research, deep insights into real people's lives.
A must listen.
This is hard to pigeonhole... It swings from achingly sad to pitch black hilarity in seconds. So many layers weaving personal tragedy with the cultural history of now, with the impact of social media. It's really gripping and thought provoking. I can't recommend it enough.
Beautifully written, acted and produced, this play is a triumph.
Compelling, beautiful, tragic and insightful. This bittersweet bath is a gorgeously layered audioscape that takes one policeman's extraordinary true story and turns it in a very personal and richly artistic tapestry. It's a piece that pushes verbatim playwriting to a new degree of truth and creativity, weaving together the strands of criminality, celebrity, male suicide and the early days of social media with incredible deftness.
Really imaginative, explores multiple dimensions of a story that was 'news' a while back. Unexpectedly touching and thought provoking.
This a beautiful and timely piece, wonderfully written and produced. Cannot recommend enough!
