  • Very relatable.

I can relate to your story in so many ways. I also struggled with drugs and numbed my feelings. I’m 13 years clean. Now using food to suppress my feelings has been such a struggle for me. It’s everywhere. Thank you for giving us a framework to start moving in a better direction. I can see God using you in so many ways. Don’t stop sharing the light of Jesus. 💕

  • Identity shift

Listening to the podcast is now part of my every day. All of the advice has helped me to become a better version of myself. I particularly liked the quote “I become the person who loses the weight and then I lose it” so now I don’t talk about my plans anymore, instead I talk about what I do. So I’ll say things like “I workout”, “I eat protein with each meal”, “I do hard things” and I am proud of myself. Thanks Trent 😃

Q: What about fruit and sugar concerns?
Fruit is framed as a filling, fiber-rich, and relatively low-risk option for many people; the emphasis is on choosing fruit that provides volume with reasonable calories and using it as a satisfying alternative to processed sweets.

Q: How can I manage portion control effectively?
Implement systems like eating until 80% full, removing trigger foods from the home, pre-portioning foods, and using practical tactics (e.g., not keeping high-risk items at home) to reduce mindless eating.
Follower Q&A: My Honest Thoughts on Keto, Late Night Cravings, Sustainable weight loss, and more | #492
Q: What should I focus on to sustain weight loss beyond the initial drop?
Focus on identity change and building a daily lifestyle that aligns with the fitter version of yourself, including planning, habit formation, and reflecting on what that version would do daily, rather than chasing a short-term diet fix.
Follower Q&A: My Honest Thoughts on Keto, Late Night Cravings, Sustainable weight loss, and more | #492
Q: Is keto sustainable long-term for most people?
The host notes that most people struggle to sustain a keto diet long-term and emphasizes that lasting weight loss hinges on being able to maintain the change, not just achieving rapid early results.
Follower Q&A: My Honest Thoughts on Keto, Late Night Cravings, Sustainable weight loss, and more | #492
Q: First question is, what are my thoughts about the ketogenic diet?
The host explains that keto often leads to quick initial weight loss mainly from water, but long-term success depends on overall calories and sustainability; for many people a moderate approach with lower but not zero carbs, or simply cutting calories, can be more maintainable than strict ketosis.
