  • Interesting

Great pod - interesting opinions. They do need a little more research sometimes though. Mollie O was beaten by one second in Carmel World Cup because she injured her finger before the race.

  • Daily reviews are great

Great podcast , really enjoying the daily updates though a little sad that TEAM GB might not be be achieving all they’d hoped for but could you please stop saying “ If I’m honest” with the occasional “brutally” added to this meaningless phrase .

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Previewing Team Wales with Dan Jones
Q: What events are on the radar for you in Glasgow?
Dan Jones anticipates a busy program with relays (4x1, 4x2) and possibly individual sprints like the 50 and 100 freestyle, depending on the schedule.
We talk with Filip Nowacki
Q: How are you preparing for a busy summer with Commonwealth Games and European Championships, and how do you manage the transition between events?
Filip talks about strategic planning with his coach to handle back-to-back major meets, focusing on accumulation and race-specific endurance while ensuring proper tapering and recovery between events. He emphasizes mental preparation, maintaining routines, and using periods of rest to reset before the next competition, highlighting the importance of staying adaptable and maintaining consistency across a demanding summer schedule.
We talk with Filip Nowacki
Q: What was your journey from Jersey to Millfield and then to Loughborough like, and what influenced your decisions along the way?
Filip describes starting swimming very young in Jersey, moving through local clubs and school programs, then being encouraged to board at Millfield for higher-level training. He explains that meeting and aligning with coaches like Kieran Piper at Millfield, plus the opportunity to work with a coach at Loughborough (Dave Hemmings) and the compatibility of coaching styles, were pivotal. He weighed the intensity and logistics of training centers, the value of coach-swimmer relationships, and ultimately chose a path that balanced development, environment, and long-term fit over immediate prestige.
Day 4 REVIEW | Aquatics GB Champs 2026
Q: What stood out most from tonight's racing for Ollie Morgan?
Ollie Morgan showed a clear uplift in form from his earlier event, recording a personal best in the 50 backstroke and signaling readiness for the longer 200 etc., with a shift in tone toward confident expectations for the rest of the meet.
Evan Jones talks Altitude, Edinburgh and Champs
Q: What events are you targeting at Champs and how do you balance medley work with your freestyle priorities?
My main events are the 200 free and 200 IM, with the 100 free as a supplementary event; I find medley work helps my freestyle, and I keep an eye on developing across three events for the summer.
