I was so hopeful of this podcast but it doesn’t resonate with me. They digress and do not discuss the actual movie. They also need to correct their statements that are inaccurate and do proper research into name pronunciation. There is no reason to be lazy.
I don’t find Mandi’s commentary insightful at all.
Host have polished soothing voices, interesting and unique takes. Also great choice in movies to discuss.
Mandi and Matthew have thoughtful, intelligent, and FUN discussions that always leave me with a richer understanding of whatever media they are discussing. And they bring in all sorts of guests which adds to the richness of the conversations. Highly recommended, whether you are pop culturally deprived (like Mandi) or not (like Matthew)!
Mandi and Matthew have spectacular chemistry, the sound quality is wonderful, and the episodes are a fantastic structured, thoughtful conversation. I love hearing Mandi’s takes, and even when I disagree, I respect them and can see where she’s coming from. With so many items still left on the list, I’m happy this podcast has a long life ahead!
It’s so much fun to hear Mandi talk about all the classic movies I grew up with from her first-watch perspective so many years later. It’s all nostalgia for me and I love it! I got so excited listening to the Bill & Ted episode!
I really enjoyed how much they dissect a movie. Not only do they give a review and discuss the movie but they go into what they would change/add and how they feel it would impact the story. I like this type of analysis when critiquing movies. Great show!
The set-up is great and the hosts' interactions really work. Intelligent conversation all around. Even though I keep saying - she really hasn't seen THAT?!
A very charming podcast that offers engaging discussions of pop culture.
I love the set up of two friends discussing pop culture one from the protective of a long time fan, and the other from the perspective of a new comer. When they both love the media they're covering it's fun to see them both falling in love with the property and talking about the things that make the thing great. On the other hand when they disagree the discussions are always insightful on both ends and very good natured, w... more
Love it, I missed out on 90% of the movies and shows being featured here so catching up along side the hosts has been great.
Matthew and Mandi discuss many of our favorite or familiar movies and shows with fresh eyes. It is refreshing to hear a new take on an old classic and the in depth discussion of the good, the bad and the ugly of it (which she probably hasn't seen either). The guests are fantastic and bring a true love for the topics and insight into why they belong on "the list". I enjoy it cause I don't have to watch the show before I listen, I've already seen it!
Listening to Mandi discover something is delightful. It doesn't seem to matter if she loved it or hated it, the way she & Matthew discuss the films or tv shows is just charming. Love the bits of info they share with the audience too. They also get amazing guests to be super fans which adds even more to the discussion.
Mandi and Matthew are always a treat to listen to! I love how they balence the love/hate of watching a movie that is so ingrained in pop culture. A great combination of fun and informative.
Unique take on the pop-culture newbie. No snark or mockery. Always insightful and well researched.
OK, so I'm pretty old and it's always so entertaining to listen to Mandi, especially, watching stuff from the past with a present-day eye. I tend to agree more with Matthew so far, but I haven't listened to all the 'casts yet, so who knows when I might disagree with him on some "guy movie." ;-) His movie/TV info is always interesting stuff, as well!

I love this! PCD is the only pop culture podcast I've been able to enjoy without having seen all of the media myself. Mandi does a great job of connecting to those who maybe haven't experienced shows/movies, Matthew's comradeship with those who have is infectious, and the two have a great connection and conversation delivery. You will like this if you are a pop culture junkie, and you will like it if you've been out of the loop for the last 30 years.
