  • Great for the sport!

Love the enthusiasm and better than the US based main athletics podcasts. Would rather listen to Podium even though I am in US. No politics just athletics! Thank you!!

  • wOw!

Big thanks to Podium. After the ‘nonsense’ of a certain co-owner of a US-based website’s track podcast, this is a breath of fresh air. Loved the two athlete interviews I listened to thus far.

Adding to an earlier review (above). Still enjoying it. But I could use a little less ‘where were you this weekend?’, especially if it was a cricket or tennis match, at the beginning of the pod. And, also, please cut back on the gratuitous cackling.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Round-Up | Silesia thoughts, Georgia Hunter Bell joins the 800m Diamond League party and World Ultimates update - with Jake Wightman
Q: What were the main takeaways from Silesia and how do they set up Zurich?
The team emphasized the depth of the 1500m field, the importance of smart pacing in Zurich, and the potential for fast, dynamic races as athletes chase Ultimates and Diamond League spots, with a focus on Jakob Ingebrigtsen and the emerging American contenders.
Grant Fisher | Double Olympic medallist
Q: What are your thoughts on transitioning to the roads, and what would drive your first marathon?
Fisher talks about the ongoing evaluation of where his strengths lie, the need for a long runway to prepare for a marathon, and the possibility of debutting before the 2028 cycle, depending on how training and opportunities align.
Grant Fisher | Double Olympic medallist
Q: How do you think about peaking for a championship year versus chasing fast times in Diamond Leagues?
He explains that in Olympic years you might hesitate to chase world records in the short term, whereas non-Olympic years allow broader opportunities to chase fast times, with a focus on longevity and smart scheduling to stay fresh for championships.
Grant Fisher | Double Olympic medallist
Q: Can you take us through your 2025 outdoor season and how you managed after the indoor successes in 2024?
Fisher describes striking while the iron is hot, taking downtime after the Olympics, then attacking the indoor season, and eventually recognizing the need for rest and planning to manage long-term peak while balancing multiple events.
Round-Up | Jake Wightman joins as guest contributor, Shanghai Diamond League review
Q: What have you seen from her in terms of her improvements over the past few seasons?
