  • Perfect podcast

I really enjoy listening while needlepointing. Krista is so interesting. My one suggestion would be to slow down a bit. Hard to follow at times.

More, more, more!!! I love hearing about products, needlepoint people, and general needlepoint

business! I’ll never get to own an LNS or probably even work at one, but this satisfies my FOMO. Thanks Krista!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

THE Finishing Expert: Lita, Nashville Needlepointer | Penny Linn Podcast
Q: How did your relationship with stores evolve and how do you decide which classes to book?
I began with small, store-hosted classes that grew through word of mouth; I later transitioned to a more formal, self-managed schedule to balance travel and ensure high-quality teaching, preferring to work with stores that reach out rather than aggressively soliciting; I am learning to balance volume with quality.
THE Finishing Expert: Lita, Nashville Needlepointer | Penny Linn Podcast
Q: How did you decide to start sharing your knowledge online and what was your first step toward becoming a known finisher?
COVID isolation pushed me to create a Needlepoint Instagram to connect with others, and I gradually began sharing finishing techniques and processes; this evolved into Needlepoint Nation/DLPT Nation and later Substack as a way to monetize and reach more stitchers.
THE Finishing Expert: Lita, Nashville Needlepointer | Penny Linn Podcast
Q: What did you learn from your first class and how did you determine travel and supplies costs?
I learned to mimic established teaching standards, cover travel and class fees, and set a simple supply fee to minimize store prep; over time I moved toward providing traveling kits and better pre-class prep to streamline the experience for stores and students.
Duck, Duck, Goose: Mackensie, Bloom & Stitch | Penny Linn Podcast
Q: Tell us how you got started with designing and what drew you to needlepoint.
I've always designed things and wanted to be an artist my whole life, gradually moving from coloring pages to cross-stitch and then needlepoint, which I fell in love with because of the decorative stitching and the ability to turn a picture into something you can stitch.
And Away We Go! Sydney, The Checkered Canvas | Penny Linn Podcast
Q: What sparked the racing-focused direction for your canvases?
I've always loved racing and motorsports, especially F1 and IndyCar, and a market gap plus exposure through the Collective helped turn that passion into a dedicated product line.
