  • More original than most other top podcasts

I subscribed to this great podcast just 10 weeks ago, and realized today that it has become my first choice when looking for something to listen to.

The host (who for some reason doesn’t introduce himself) is engaging and has very interesting guests. I can count on him to ask the questions that I want to ask.

He also seems very trustworthy, so I feel good about relying on the information I learn on his podcast. So many podcasts these days have turned into long infomercials, so it’s refreshing ... more

  • Interesting Podcast

One of the most comprehensive podcasts on health and fitness that doesn’t get too scientific for the non PhD in the listening audience. The host asks such great questions.

  • Enjoy your podcast

You deliver good material but PLEASE STOP SAYING “LIKE” every other word.

Please listen to your podcasts and listen to what you sound like.

It really detracts from what you have to say.

If you want people to get more out of your podcasts, please work on your delivery.

    Thanks!!

EPI 259: Foods For Brain Health With Dr. Drew Ramsey - Author of "Healing The Modern Brain: Nine Tenets To Build Mental Fitness And Revitalize Your Mind"
Q: I want to ask you, on that top 20 list, can you rattle off a few of those that are on the top 20 nutrient dense list? And what has the literature shown about diet changes and mental health?
The top foods are varied, but leafy greens, seafood, legumes, and nuts feature prominently for nutrient density. There are multiple trials showing that moving toward more whole foods and nutrient-dense plants and seafood improves mood and reduces depression risk; overall, the data support that better dietary quality and nutrient intake correlate with better brain health.
EPI 255: HAPPINESS Doctor On How High-Functioning People Can CREATE MORE JOY In Their Lives. With Dr. Judith Joseph
Q: How can someone recognize red flags of high-functioning depression and start shifting toward more joy without stepping back from their work?
She describes the red flags like overworking without joy, the misconception between happiness and joy, and introduces the biopsychosocial approach plus the five Vs as concrete steps to regain joy, such as grounding techniques and focusing on meaningful values.
EPI 255: HAPPINESS Doctor On How High-Functioning People Can CREATE MORE JOY In Their Lives. With Dr. Judith Joseph
Q: What's a little bit of background on how you got into this work and the book you wrote?
Dr. Joseph explains her transition from researching classic depression to studying high-functioning individuals who cope by overworking, which led to her book on High Functioning Depression and reclaiming joy.
EPI 257: Does CREATINE Improve Mental Health, Energy, & Symptoms Of Sleep Deprivation? Plus How Exercise, Different Foods, & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Can Improve Your Mood. With Dr. Nicholas Fabiano
Q: How does creatine fit into mental health treatment, especially for sleep-deprived individuals?
Creatine may act as a brain energy buffer that supports cognitive function and mood during sleep loss or depressive states, with higher-dose, one-off trials in sleep deprivation showing some cognitive benefits, though sleep cannot be replaced by creatine and dosing should be individualized.
Q: What are some of the research-backed lifestyle interventions that can help people with mild to moderate depressive symptoms?
The guest explains that fundamentals like exercise, diet, and sleep have the strongest evidence, with aerobic and resistance exercise showing antidepressant-like effects comparable to medications and therapy in mild to moderate cases, while nutrition and sleep interventions also contribute meaningful improvements when used alongside other treatments.
