I came across this podcast in a rather roundabout, (the dungeon rats to Starfleet Engage to Patrek), and love the insight and comedy the two Pats add! In fact I’ve started watching Star Trek because of this podcast. Thanks for an entertaining show and for making me laugh publicly on the train.
I am a huge TNG fan and I love listening to a fan and a newbie talk about the series. I came to Pat Trek after listening to all of Dungeon Rats and this is just as much fun. More Lindsay, please. Also, I need more people to listen so that they understand why I can’t stop singing “gimme peaches, gimme hot sauce” ❤️
The camaraderie between the Pats is what really makes this a podcast to listen to. The fresh perspective of winegar and the fan boy perspective of O’rourke clash, mingle, and cohabitate in your brain and lovingly forces you to see beloved episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation in new and exciting ways. The friendly banter, the arguing over minutiae, the agreeing over Wesley Crusher being a stupid character, all make for a joyful listen and a lovely escape from the hellish landscape that is no... more
At best I'm a good fan of Star Trek, at worst I'm a Klingon. PatTrek makes it easy for me to relive the best years of TNG without devoting hours to watching some of the series' more tepid episodes. Also the Pats are great. If you want to get caught up on Star Trek with having a nice pleasant atmosphere surround your earlobes, this is the best way to do it.
Let this big beautiful wormhole of a podcast take you to the delta quadrant of TNG bliss. Pat O introduces Pat W to TNG with all the emotional restraint of a 7 month old Labrador retriever. Fun facts about the production and Patrick's Log provide extradiagetic context. The play by play commentary of both Pats and their frequent guests highlight the quirky flaws and compelling storytelling of this beloved series.
