I no longer paddle because of a disability . But have canoed over 35 years 30 with the same guy’s . I like your show to keep me up to date on stuff . And like the fact that you don’t have to have the newest EQ out there , I look forward to listening to your show every Sunday morning
Interesting and fun, with the huge bonus of being an Ontario based podcast, though there is loads of info for paddlers around the world.

As a Colorado based, primarily white water paddler, I am surprisingly infatuated now with Canadian flat water canoe culture. In large part thanks to this podcast and the entertaining nature of it. I hope that they can come out with a YouTube video blog of the podcast soon with some visuals. Since I don’t get to paddle as much as I would like listening to this podcast is like therapy for the river deprived.
I recently started listening to this podcast. The two hosts are very personable and the guests are very interesting and knowledgeable. I am looking for as much in depth true experience through storytelling and examples as I can find. This is a great discovery. I’m working my way backwards through the episodes. The show centers on paddling culture across canoe, kayak, SUP, and raft disciplines, blending trip reports, gear talk, safety tips, and policy updates with a conversational, humor-filled vibe. Episodes frequently weave practical paddling guidance (weather, portages, safety), gear evaluations, and regional destination spotlights with broader elements like environmental issues, park closures, and community events. A notable strength is the hosts' ability to translate complex topics—ranging from weather data gaps to regulatory changes and funding pressures for outdoor programs—into accessible, entertaining discussions that still feel deeply informed. The format often features a mix of personal trip stories, guest-less banter, and timely update... more
