  • Understandable and practical content - not nearly as many ads as other people have stated

The content in the podcast is put together in a way that is easy to understand and implement into your training. It does not have filler/conversational content like other Triathlon focused podcasts do. I enjoy that the episodes are typically 15-30 minutes long and go a great job introducing practical pointers for your workouts/races within that time.

Other reviews have stated that this is a very ad focused podcast. I would disagree - although he does have episode sponsors I do not find that the... more

  • Really good and know their stuff.

I’ve been listening to TOA for a while now and absolutely love the knowledge they have on everything triathlon. They have a way of reassuring you and providing you with the confidence into race day and helping you dial in your training. Definitely recommend listening to them.

Should You Race a 70.3 Before Your IRONMAN? Your Race Planning Questions Answered| Ep 598
Q: What are the pros and cons of renting a bike for Ironman and should I do it?
The cons—unfamiliar fit and components and the risk of suboptimal positioning—outweigh the pros, so it's generally advised to avoid renting a bike unless there are exceptional circumstances; travel with your own bike when possible.
Should You Race a 70.3 Before Your IRONMAN? Your Race Planning Questions Answered| Ep 598
Q: What sessions should I do during race week?
Keep volume low and intensity capped; for non-Ironman races you can have 15-30 minutes of daily training and a couple of higher-intensity efforts earlier in the week, but prioritize rest, sleep, and ensuring you arrive fresh for race day.
Should You Race a 70.3 Before Your IRONMAN? Your Race Planning Questions Answered| Ep 598
Q: Is an Olympic event worthwhile in the build-up to a 70.3?
Yes, it's worthwhile and also valuable to include pool sprints for race-day practice, as well as a few shorter races to practice transitions, nerves, and logistics with minimal disruption to the overall Ironman prep.
Should You Race a 70.3 Before Your IRONMAN? Your Race Planning Questions Answered| Ep 598
Q: Should I enter a July 70.3 before Cascades Portugal in October?
Aim for roughly three months between the 70.3 and the Ironman to recover, then build again, or alternatively treat the 70.3 as a strategic B-race five to seven weeks out from the Ironman to fit neatly into the training plan.
IRONMAN Fuelling & Hydration: How to Nail Your Carbs, Electrolytes and Fluids on Race Day
Q: How should I push carb intake during Ironman training?
Treat fuel tolerance as trainable, increase gradually by about 5 g/hour per week until you approach the 100 g/hour mark, then back off if gut discomfort appears; individual variation is normal.
