  • Good news / bad news

Hi Nicola , love your podcast

Have you tried the Kayali perfumes?

She’s the sister of the founder of Huda Beauty .

The fragrances will surprise you , they’re gorgeous….

The bad news is that yesterday I learned fragrances (even the expensive ones) are neurotoxins and have a bad effect on brain cells and hormones 😢😢😢😢

I’m a fragrance lover like yourself but I’m taking it easy now…

    💕🥂

International Lipstick Day Special With Eileen G'Sell

International Lipstick Day Special With Eileen G'Sell
Q: What was your kind of first memory of wearing lipstick?

The Beauty Editor - Perdita Nouril on SPF Misinformation
Q: What can listeners do to evaluate sunscreen misinformation and protect their skin?
Trust credible experts, read full articles rather than snippets, and consider the broader scientific consensus about SPF safety and efficacy. The discussion emphasizes checking sources, avoiding fear-driven conclusions, and recognizing the role of the attention economy in spreading misinformation.
The Beauty Editor - Perdita Nouril on SPF Misinformation
Q: How and why did the belief that SPF causes cancer arise?
Perdita explains that misinformation often links to a lack of understanding of science, the idea that 'chemicals are bad,' and misinterpretation of studies showing chemicals in the blood. She notes how social media amplifies sensational clips and how experts and trusted sources are essential to counter false narratives.
Laura Geller - The OG Beauty Influencer
Q: What was the biggest business pitfall you faced and what did you learn from it?
Laura shares the private equity purchase, the misalignment with founder-led vision, and how lack of marketing investment in subsequent years nearly doomed the brand, teaching the critical importance of founder involvement and steady brand-building over quick financial gains.
