This is a podcast of Ohio Yearly Meeting. We are a collection of Conservative Quaker Meetings based primarily in Ohio. By conservative, we do not mean politically conservative. Conservative Friends are known for their commitment to conserve the Original message of the first generation of Quakers. These Quakers, in turn, saw their movement as a revival of primitive Christianity. We hope the install... more

This podcast sheds light on the wisdom of the early Quakers and how to apply it to our lives today. I greatly appreciate it not only for information and the insights into Conservative Quakerism (read the About section) - but for helping me to think about and discern what this means in my life.
Conservative Friends are defined not by political belief but by efforts to conserve and live the faith of early Quakers. These podcasts make clear how they follow the ways of the earliest Christians and how they differ from other Christian denominations. Although informed by history and linguistics, the emphasis is on experiential understanding over creed and dogma.
Truely wonderful. I’m am so grateful to Chip, Henry and the others behind the scenes for this podcast. It has been a beacon of light to me over the past few weeks.

This program centers on Conservative Quaker theology, with heavy emphasis on Greek-language Bible study, scriptural interpretation, and how early Quaker insights intersect with the Gospel narratives. Episodes frequently explore linguistic nuance (Greek terms, translation choices) and bring in historical context from Ohio Yearly Meeting to illuminate experiential faith, pacifism, and the inward work of the Spirit. A standout feature is the sustained, classroom-style format led by a knowledgeable host who guides language-minded discussion and invites participant reflection, making complex scripture approachable for dedicated lay readers and religious historians alike.
