The White House lying and cover-ups have been not just in the service of political thuggery but to gin up a gratuitous war without end.
They stopped making new ones in August. Go to Op-Cast instead.
I am very disappointed that TimesSelect has discontinued the individual Op-Ed Columnist Podcast ... the Op-Ed Columnist Podcast added great value to the TimesSelect product . Not to mention giving me the feeling that the I was receiving my moneys worth ...
I've been listening to NYTs "opinion" podcasts for quite awhile; Rich, Dowd, etal. Now, as newspaper/magazine content has become increasingly available in the mp3 format, The Times has decided to go backward, its op/ed podcasts disappearing as fast as the constitution. A real journalistic loss for those who, like me, looked forward and listened to them daily. This is a dull and anemic substitute. When did The Times become a mean-spirited bait and switch operation?
This podcast is not updated very frequently - less than once a week. All the op-eds are read by professional readers who have very whiny voices and sound like they are reading to a class of first-graders. Why can't the authors read their own peices? Why can't we get more frequent updates?
I'm at NYT Select Sub (via weekend print editions). The Select Podcasts (premium) are worth the price of my weekend subscription. The free sampler available here is not indicative of NYTSelect's value.
